Welcome back all! The second iOS 5 beta came out last Saturday. I immediately updated. I quickly started to notice the battery life draining with in hours of taking my phone off of the charger. Since beta 2 I have noticed that most of the battery problems are fixed. I'm sure Apple has some more refining to do; I can easily go 2 days again without having to worry.

As I mentioned in my last post about iOS 5 some key features were there. Since the update the OS is more stable and 2 more features were added.
* Syncing with iTunes over WiFi
* Backing up to iCloud

When backing up to iCloud, you have to be careful. Your backup can rack up a hefty size very fast. iCloud backs up your Camera Roll, App Data, Documents, and Settings. This is very useful, because if you have downloaded a game, backed up to iCloud and had to restore your phone for some reason, you can now restore from the "Cloud" and all of your apps will start downloading at the same time and you will have all your saved game data back as well.

For WiFi syncing it is very useful. Its nice to sit on your couch and just press "Sync Now" and set your phone down or keep doing what ever you were doing. Bear in mind that it is not really recommended (during the beta anyway) to have 6 app updates and then sync a whole bunch of music. If you have a few things and want to do a "quick sync" it is awesome.
Thanks for joining me today! Stay tuned for new iOS 5 beta updates!

Hello All!

This week we will be talking about the value of repairing your iPhone. I wanted to share with you all about the importance and the value of repairing your own iPhone over putting down over 4-5 bills on a new phone.

As an example if you drop your phone and happen to break the screen and you have a 3G or 3GS you are the in the best situation. These phones very simple to take a part and parts are a fraction of the cost of a new phone. As you look at last week’s blog I showed everyone how easy it is. We offer replacement parts for the screen alone as low as $17.99. Let’s dig deeper into repairing your phone.

iPhones in general are really simple designs that can be taken apart by simply watching a video. Pricing is very important for these parts. This is why we are here. We offer our customers affordable and quality iPhone parts. Every week we will be releasing repair videos so we can offer you complete solution. In this sense our customers are getting fantastic value when they purchase from us because we give FREE video support, we have our forum, and we have our knowledgeable customer service. Instead of spending the money on a new phone you can purchase OEM parts at a fraction of the price. Thanks for joining us today! This week we will be having another repair video!

Thanks for reading!

As promised I am doing a full review of iOS 5. Since this is a beta not all of the features will be available.

Hopefully you saw the keynote because they talked about 10 of the 200 new features that are in iOS 5.

First let’s start off by talking about notifications. They completely designed the way the whole notification system works. It now does not interrupt you while you are doing your normal everyday tasks; facebook, twitter, email, and checking out the latest gossip.

It notifies you in the most non bothersome way. While you are playing a game or sending an email you it will come down from the top and lets you see who it is for about 5 seconds then disappears. If you happen to miss it then just swipe down from the top of the screen and it will show you the message, email, missed call, and reminder.

Photos: The new photos app lets you edit pictures straight from your phone right after you take it. For all you guys out there that use iPhoto, it lets you take it with a grid, do simple redeye enhancements and cropping and rotations. You can now also use your volume button as your shutter button! It is very responsive and works great!

2 New Apps: In iOS 5 there are two new apps that they added with to the operating system; Newsstand and reminders. Newsstand simply lets you manage any magazine subscription that you have and also lets you read them on the go. They will also download when new issues are available. Unfortunately Newsstand is not accessible in the beta. Reminders is the perfect to-do list. It lets you make lists for grocery shopping, or those “honey-do’s” that your significant other wants you to do around the house. It integrates fully with the iCal app on the phone so you can see when you have time to complete all of it.

iMessages: iMessages is a BBM (blackberry messenger) competitor. It lets you contact all of your friends via iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone. It words over WiFi and 3G so you can just keep talking all you want. I played with it a little bit and it is awesome. It makes it more entertaining to because iOS 5 now has built in Emoji’s! You have to enable them of course, and that’s in the settings. For the iPhone you can turn on iMessages on and off. It should be pre-installed on the iPad and iPod Touch.

I hope you have enjoyed the top features in iOS 5. Since this is the first beta it’s pretty limited on what is functional or not. I am hoping before it officially releases we will be able to take a look at how things like WiFi Sync works and full integration of iCloud. I hope you have enjoyed this! Take a look at the photos on the page!

Feel free to send us your feedback! customerservice@iphonepartspro.com

Until next time!

This blog is centered on iPhone (Duh!), anything iOS, and iPad. We will be bringing you news every week. We will also be taking your questions on how to repair your phone. Anyway... let’s get down to it.

As you may or may not know Apple hosted their annual WWDC event on Monday. Unfortunately there was no hardware (hopefully in the fall). On the other hand we did see something just as important; the OS that runs on the phones. iOS 5 was announced yesterday and I personally could not be more excited. There are more than 1500 new APIs (for all you developers out there) and over 200 new features. They revealed 10 of those features for us; hopefully it will keep us satisfied until the fall. From the features like notifications to OTA (Over the Air) updates and twitter integration; I haven’t been this excited about iOS in a very long time.

I have some really good news for you guys! I will be doing a full iOS 5 overview next week! I just got iOS 5 on my phone and will be reviewing it for you guys giving you screen shots on all the new features. Thanks for taking the time to read this, until next time!
